NAZ Marine: ERP & Marine Financial System
Project Overview
A local-first financial accounting, billing, inventory, payroll, and Zakat platform built solo for a marine machinery and diesel spare-parts enterprise in Karachi — replacing a 1990s legacy Oracle 10g terminal with an intuitive zero-dependency system.
The Challenge
Replacing an entrenched Oracle 10g terminal used by staff aged 40–70. Invoicing required tedious 2–5 minute Brand-to-Model drill-downs per line, quotations corrupted actual sales books, payroll lived across 7 years of fragile Excel sheets, and the shop had zero IT infrastructure and intermittent internet.
The Solution
Engineered an offline-first desktop architecture powered by SQLite in WAL mode with Express and React. Preserved familiar keyboard F-key navigation while introducing type-ahead multi-part search, dedicated quotation workflows, automated payroll/slip generation, native Zakat tracking, and a verified binary DMP/LOG data migration pipeline.
The Outcome
Cut invoice creation time from 5 minutes to under 60 seconds. Shipped 47 production screens and 45 REST endpoints in 12 days solo as a zero-install portable Windows build with 100% legacy data integrity.
